Local History
In contrast to the limited sources on family history held by Dr
Williams's Library, the Library is an important source of information
about the
history of nonconformity and holds a number of important surveys and
sources of value to local historians.
The Library also maintains a major collection of printed congregational
histories, relating primarily, but not exclusively to English
Presbyterian, Congregational and Unitarian congregations: see Nonconformist
congregations in Great Britain; a list of histories and other material
in Dr. Williams’s Library (1974), published by the
Library.
