Visiting the LibraryA general guide to our facilities and services can be downloaded here. [PDF 39KB]Access Visitors are welcome to use the Library, but should contact the Library in advance. They must sign the Visitor's Book as well as the Daily Register and bring some formal identification such as a passport, University Library card (with signature and photograph) or driving licence. You must contact the Library before your visit if you wish to consult the manuscript or rare book collections. You will need to register separately for a manuscript reader's ticket, this takes about fifteen minutes. You must bring some photographic identification (passport, driving licence etc). Certain manuscript collections are not available for conservation reasons, and access to the Library’s ‘select’ manuscripts is highly restricted. Postgraduate and other students need to write to the Director in advance of their visit to ascertain the specific requirements for access. The Library is at: 14 Gordon Square, London, WC1H 0AR Directions The Library is in Gordon Square, very close to Euston Station (and only a couple of blocks away from the British Museum in Bloomsbury and the British Library in St Pancras). The Library is closed at weekends and on bank holidays, with extended closures over Christmas, New Year and Easter (from the Thursday before Good Friday to the following Tuesday, inclusive). It is advisable to check before making a special visit as the Library occasionally closes for special events. Easter Closure - from 5pm on Wednesday 4 April until 10am on Wednesday 11 April 2012.
