Visitors are welcome to use the Library, but should contact the Library in advance. They must sign the Visitor's Book as well as the Daily Register and bring some formal identification such as a passport, University Library card (with signature and photograph) or driving licence.
You must contact the Library before your visit if you wish to consult the manuscript or rare book collections. You will need to register separately for a manuscript reader's ticket, this takes about fifteen minutes. You must bring some photographic identification (passport, driving licence etc). Certain manuscript collections are not available for conservation reasons, and access to the Library’s ‘select’ manuscripts is highly restricted.
Postgraduate and other students need to write to the Director in advance of their visit to ascertain the specific requirements for access.
The Library is at:
14 Gordon Square,

The Library is in Gordon Square, very close to Euston Station (and only a couple of blocks away from the British Museum in Bloomsbury and the British Library in St Pancras).
